09:22 < rxr> btw: AMD Announces August Release Date for Barcelona
09:23 < Ragnarin> ya read that
09:23 < Ragnarin> good morning rene
09:26 < rxr> hi Ragnarin
09:26 < rxr> wow - the new google maps dynamic route moving is amazing
09:26 < rxr> even runs in konqeurror
09:26 < Ragnarin> o_O
09:26 < rxr> konqeuror
09:26 < Ragnarin> kewl
09:26 < rxr> you can drag node points around, nw
09:27 < rxr> ah - and the morning iPhone pictures ...
09:27 < rxr> http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/29/iphone-first-hands-on-and-unboxing/
09:27 < sepp> lol
09:27 < Ragnarin> lol
09:28 < sepp> now everyone is nuts because of an crappy phone
09:28 < rxr> wow: http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/29/iphone-splayed-for-your-pleasure/
09:28 < Ragnarin> lol
09:29 < rxr> thing is all the former phones are so annoying that people just finally want a phone that just works ...
09:29 < Ragnarin> what's so great about it anyway?
09:29 < Ragnarin> it's a closed box like all the other phones
09:29 < sepp> my cellphone works and all it does is, well it has number keys on it to dial
09:29 < Ragnarin> what makes it so special?
09:30 < rxr> Ragnarin: way more intuitive, uncluttered and feature-rich notheless
09:30 < rxr> best watch some apple.com videos to get an idea
09:31 < rxr> but not the keynote of steve jobs, I always find them a bit slowly and often fall asleep
09:32 < sepp> for > $2000 with att service i would rather buy an laptop
09:32 < rxr> 2000 ?
09:32 < sepp> with the 2 year contract
09:33 < rxr> you accumualted the whole 2 year cell phone provider costs ?
09:33 < sepp> someone did
09:33 < Ragnarin> yea
09:33 < sepp> but not me ;)
09:34 < Ragnarin> now openmoko sounds interesting
09:35 < Ragnarin> but the iphone is just the same lockin like any other phone
09:35 < rxr> albei with good software
09:35 < rxr> I talked to the openmoko guys at FIC when I was in Taiwan
09:35 < Ragnarin> yea I saw on your pics
09:36 < rxr> this is a big incest over there, especially with the open source guys they hired for the boat
09:36 < sepp> if nokia would have designed the exact same phone with the exact same software no one would care
09:36 < rxr> they do not want other people in, although FIC wishes they would get new people
09:36 < rxr> the prototype on the fair was not usable at all - with over a year of development
09:37 < Ragnarin> >.<
09:37 < rxr> booted in 2m, menu clicks took ~2s to do something (even highlighting the preset button took 2s)
09:37 < rxr> but yes, when they have the first developer samples I will get one as well - even if FIC does not contract us to help out
09:37 < rxr> but that only to start a T2 target for the device .-)
09:38 < sepp> but you can analyse core dumps on it ;)
09:38 < Ragnarin> lol
09:39 < rxr> btw. we got quite great contacts over the world from the last trade sohw visiting and projects we worked on, so it could happen we do future work for other established cellphone companies in the future
09:39 < rxr> btw: http://www.exactcode.de/global/career/
09:44 < Ragnarin> kewl ;)

11:13 < sepp> too small :p
11:13 < rxr> heh, ask at press@amd.com if they have a 1680x1050 version :-)
12:10 < sepp> why is build_target.log totally empty?
12:29 < rxr> this happens since we "imporoved" the output plugin handling to also handle the general text log with the plugin system
12:29 < rxr> we did this not only have to have this code-path tested and actually working, but also to allow printing messages from inside package builds to the console
12:30 < sepp> ahh, ok, i missed that
12:30 < rxr> this .log stuff needs to be fixed to | tee the actual console log
12:30 < rxr> this .log regression already exists quite some time, this change was like in r6xxx or so ...
12:30 < rxr> we really should fix this sometime soon .-)
12:30 < sepp> ohh
12:40 < rxr> yeah
