09:35 < mtr> hi folks
09:37 < mtr> just wanted to let you know, i'm going to a 10 days business travel, and after that two weeks vacation, so - hopefully
09:37 < mtr> cu in late august
09:37 -!- mtr [n=Michael@pD9E100E7.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has left #t2 []
09:56 < rxr> heh
09:57 < rxr> now dri/drm works on this i945 and atlantis requires 0% cpu load ...
10:03 < rxr> just my favourite, evas_gl_x11_test, is slow :-((
10:06 < rxr> slow as in stalling badly ...
11:01 < CIA-7> rene * r18612 /trunk/package/x11/mesa/compile.patch: * fix mesa commpile issue in a slightly better way
12:40 < CIA-7> amery * r18613 /trunk/package/base/mktinitrd/mktinitrd.desc:
12:40 < CIA-7> * updated mktinitrd (r254 -> r260)
12:40 < CIA-7> * fixed mktinitrd description to show the changes on the package
12:47 < rxr> heh, I immediatly said cramfs is not a good base to build on ,-)
12:48 < rxr> aside I still wonder why he rebuilds what we already have in t2 ...
12:48 < rxr> ts
12:53 < shevegen> how are the .html files at for example - http://www.t2-project.org/packages/acdctl.html generated? a perl script?
12:53 < rxr> beg your pardon:
12:53 < rxr> # uhm, auto on a sandbox... what to add?
12:53 < rxr> modules="ext2 ext3 reiserfs"
12:53 < rxr> modules="$modules sata_sis ide_generic"
12:53 < rxr> modules="$modules dm-mod dm-crypt"
12:53 < rxr> modules="$modules r8169 8139too 8139cp"
12:53 < rxr> my oh my what a hardcoding
12:53 < shevegen> *g*
12:54 < rxr> and manual module spec? nicely forcing the initrd to just one type of silicon ...
12:54 < rxr> shevegen: that page is mostly generated by a bash script with some sed postprocessing for the final html pages
12:54 < rxr> # auto on the running system, lsmod ,-)
12:54 < rxr> modules=$( cat /proc/modules | cut -d' ' -f1 |
12:54 < rxr> grep -v '^ip_conntrack\|ip_nat\|iptable_nat\|nfnetlink\|iptable_filter$' )
12:54 < rxr> ^- this mktinitrd is as crap as 1.4 ROCK Linux was ...
12:55 < rxr> else
12:55 < rxr> echo_error "can't detect modules without a /proc/modules"
12:55 < rxr> ...
12:55 < rxr> tss tss tss
12:55 < shevegen> k
12:56 < rxr> but I'll like change the genration to lua in the next weeks
12:56 < rxr> because the bash generator is extremely slow
12:56 < rxr> ok, my stomarch turned over I have to close mktinird.in
12:58 < shevegen> i am just amazed that people can do very complex scripts with bash, ie. GNU sourcemage :> after using ruby for quite some time its hard to go back to something else (for me)
12:58 < rxr> ah, ruby ,-) I wanted to take a closer look on that some time soon ,-)
12:59 < rxr> do you have perl or php experience to note if ruby is more mature work comfortable with a larger code base using it ?
13:00 < sepp> ruby is a perlish smalltalk without all the cool development tools
13:00 < rxr> yep I know the summery even read some intros already
13:00 < rxr> just missed the time to give it a real try ,-)
13:00 < rxr> hi sepp btw ,-)
13:00 < sepp> hello :)
13:01 < shevegen> when i switched to linux, i spent only about ~2 months with perl. About 6 months later i started with ruby, and been using it for around ~14 months. Compared to perl, I find ruby cleaner/more elegant.
13:01 < sepp> i gave it a try, the interpreter is really damn slow
13:01 < rxr> hm, slower than php ?
13:02 < sepp> that i can not say
13:02 < shevegen> ruby can be quite slow :)
13:03 < sepp> and the interpreter is quite dumb, reading files from top to bottom
13:03 < sepp> but the lang is quite nice
13:33 < sepp> i tested yarv a year ago, that vm is not much faster (only with toy examples)
15:20 < LMJ> huuhuu
15:20 < LMJ> moin moin

17:30 < LMJ> how are you rxr ?
17:43 < rxr> oh good

17:45 < LMJ> fine, back from work

17:50 < LMJ> how get the same result with ./scripts/Build-Pkg
19:03 -!- _Lewellyn [n=lewellyn@pdpc/supporter/silver/lewellyn] has joined #t2
19:42 < rxr> LMJ: ?
19:42 < rxr> hi _Lewellyn
19:42 < LMJ> hy rxr
19:43 < LMJ> sepp give me this advices : ./scripts/Create-ErrList -cfg netstation -remove some_packages_who-failed
19:43 < LMJ> and restart the Build-Target
19:43 < LMJ> seems better now
19:45 < rxr> LMJ: nah, can not hurt to get some more css details encoded into my brain ,-)
19:45 < LMJ> hehe
19:45 < LMJ> i think you like it :-D
19:46 < rxr> in thoery I could write down the whole predefined design in absolute coordinates, but I wanted to try some more advanced dynamic layouting ...
19:46 < rxr> however that kept me busy reading and reading and reading css details .-((
19:46 < LMJ> btw
19:46 < LMJ> do you know the Firefow "webdeveloper" plugin ?
19:46 < LMJ> Firefox
19:48 < rxr> hm, i only use konqueror and firefox dom inspector so far
19:48 < rxr> bbl.
